In the fifth installment of the Joico Holiday Hairstyle series, Joico's Glam Hair Expert Katie Bilovol created an elegant up-do with a double fishtail braid chignon. Fanciful enough for elegant dining, the look is still refreshingly easy for glamour gals to create at home.
Step by Steps:
1. Wash hair with Joico K-PAK Shampoo and Conditioner to treat damaged winter hair. Blow dry hair with a large, round brush to create volume.
2. Loosely gather one section with your hands and split this one section into two. Spray with Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo to provide grip while you create the braid. Begin the braid by pulling a skinny strand of hair from the outside of the right section, pull it over the right section, then weave it under the left section. From the other side, grab a strand and bring it over to the other, continuing to crisscross the hair to create a fishtail braid. Once you run out of hair, fasten with clear elastic and loop end of hair into the elastic. Repeat the previous step on the opposite section.
3. Create a chignon wrapping the two braids in a crisscross motion. Start with the braid on the heavy parted side and bring it over to the other side, securing it with a bobby pin. Repeat by taking the other braid, and bringing it to the other side, securing it with a bobby pin. Continue wrapping both braids over each other to create the chignon.
4. Mist hair with Joico Power Spray to keep it polished and free from flyaways. To add a holiday feel, pin a sparkly barrette on the opposite side of the fishtail chignon.
