On May 11, The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences released a list of the nominees for the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The Academy nominated Scruples Artist and Design Team Member Terrence Michael Renk and his colleagues in the category of Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling for a Drama Series for their work on ABC’s All My Children.
On June 17, The Academy officially announced Renk and his colleagues as this year’s winners at a gala held at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown Los Angeles. CBS broadcasted the program the following day.
According to an Academy press release, the awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and were presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the 2010 calendar year.
“I am thrilled, honored and humbled to be nominated and now recognized by such a creative group,” said Renk. “ My involvement in television has really opened my eyes to how amazing and far reaching the professional salon industry has become.”
Renk has over 20 years of experience working in the professional salon industry as a salon owner and premiere colourist. Renk’s passion for the industry shines through both on stage and in the classroom. He is a celebrity stylist, has presented at hair shows around the country and his work has been featured in many fashion and professional salon industry publications.
