Celebrity stylist Ammon Carver, who is also a Matrix Artistic Director, was relaxing at his home in New York City when he received an important call from his agent. Apparently, a "very, very important" VIP just arrived in the Big Apple and was planning to attend a romantic dinner with her boyfriend. Since New York City's paparazzi are always on the lookout, she wanted to be sure that her hair would be fabulous and camera-ready, of course!
When Ammon arrived at the posh Soho hotel, he headed up to the luxurious penthouse suite to discover that his VIP client was pop diva Christina Aguilera, who also stars in the hit show, "The Voice." "Christina and her boyfriend Matt Rutler had been hanging out in their suite over the weekend with their dog," reveals Ammon Carver. "That day, they decided to head out for a low-key dinner. She asked me for a casual look that would hold up under a cute hat and fit in with the bohemian vibe in Soho." After a quick chat, Aguilera and Carver agreed on loose, sexy waves with a few, on-trend braided pieces in the front.
To achieve the look, Carver first misted each section of Aguilera's hair with Matrix Vavoom Shapemaker Medium Hold Hairspray before twirling it around a large curling iron. After her hair cooled off, Carver worked some Matrix Design Pulse Loosely Defined Texture Creme through the star's hair to accentuate the waves and provide soft separation and control. Before he left, he gifted Aguilera with the new Matrix Total Results Silk Wonder Smoothing Oil.
