What was Spencer's greatest challenge? "Contortionists are extremely aware of their bodies, so movement and posing came naturally to them," she replies. "My biggest challenge was creating something more creative with the hair, than what they could do with their bodies!" This collection was a turning point in my work as a competitor," notes Spencer. "After letting go of all my preconceived ideas about what would make a winning collection, I was finally able to understand that it wasn't about winning; it was about passion. Once I decided to work with contortionists, the Balls, Rings and Springs collection just fell into place. |
