Styles and shapes are easily updated with modern textures and the level of texture is woven into the bride's signature look. Marek stresses that the hair shouldn't compete with the bridal gown, but it should complement it.
Marek says that texture can be achieved through a variety of techniques-a rough blow-out, curling iron, micro-crimping or even air-drying. The degree of texture is determined by the bride's overall look-one that is generally conceptualized by the bride and her stylist of choice. Of course, Red Carpet looks are a prominent source of inspiration for today's bride.

MODERN CLASSIC: The days of the severe, slicked bun have passed. Soft, moldable textures dominate. Hair should be constructed, but remain airy and have some movement. A natural texture contrasted against the refined fabric of a classic bridal gown is a "contradiction" that makes the modern classic bride very 2012.
VINTAGE INSPIRIED: Finger-waves are a fitting homage to the Golden Era of Hollywood, which presents polished style and a very romantic look. In order to evoke this in 2012, let the waves transcend into a more relaxed texture, keeping it fresh and not too costume-like. Using a heavier, stoned headband balances the look to convey a true vintage bride.
HIGH FASHION: It's all about shape. This season, a strong geometric shape is softened with rough textures; micro-crimping is a great avenue to marry editorial with bridal. Proper finishing creates a look that will not be regretted in years to come. While high-fashion, this stylish bride stills seeks elegance.
