Before we wax poetic about Betsey Johnson’s zany yet flirty spring collection, we want to air her naughty laundry. T & A - yep, it’s short for Tits & Ass-is a tongue-in-cheek take on big busts, mostly bare bottoms and sharing your lingerie with the world.
Is her T & A collection provocative? Not really. Is it fun? You bet!
For NYFW at Lincoln Center, Johnson unleashed a steady stream of models in delicate, seethrough outfi ts that could double for boudoir fare, mixes of animal prints and lace, and streamlined dresses that were covered with cheeky graphics.
Also included was a smattering of gorgeous crocheted pieces that effortlessly draped over lithe bodies without a hint of bulk. Craving her signature designs, loyal fans also got their Betsey fix with models in fl oral, skull and ribcage prints, not to mention harem-style rompers, bustiers and bubble dresses.
Johnson’s common thread: Each model wore her signature pink heart on one ample breast, made possible by a Betsey Johnson Intimates Shelf Bra, which can make mountains out of mole hills.
