Dario, you are so right, he copied no one. Not many hairdressers are that original? He didn't even like to copy himself. 'The minute the client walks out of the door, it's old-fashoned,' he said. However, I do think the originality was in his mind, not necessarily the individuality of sculpture cutting.

He was one of the master sculpture cutters. It was the cutting style prior Sassoon that few hairdressers have accepted. I remember in Sydney we would compare sculpture to Sassoon cutting but we chose sculpture, which is modern today as it was then and as Helen said 'you copied nobody '. That is the individuality of sculpture cutting.
