The new waves are textured and relaxed-not perfect at all and that's what makes them ultra cool. For Fall/winter 2014, the Blumarine, Burberry Prorsum, Isabel Marant, Rochas, Chloe, and Gucci runways all highlighted a blurred, soft wave.
"These waves are edgy enough for the runway, but realistic enough for women to wear every day, you just can't make them too perfect or it takes the cool factor out," says Ruth Roche, Artistic Ambassador for Pureology Serious Colour Care.
Here's How:
● Use a 1 1/4" curling iron and wrap hair around the iron concentrating on the root are-the idea is to lift and redirect the roots to create texture. When wrapping, let the ends stay free for a more irregular look. And, vary the wrapping direction to give the roots more character.
● Stay away from using a brush after curling, it will polish the waves too much. Use fingers.
● Always set the waves with a setting spray, try Pureology Strengthening Control Zero Dulling Hairspray.
This style can look even better the second day with a bit of Pureology Fresh Approach Dry Shampoo to help lift and redirect the roots. Apply to the root area throughout, holding the can about 6 inches away from head. Be sure to lift each section, so product is applied to the root area and use a blow dryer quickly on the areas where the product is to help absorb the oil.
