Recognized as a beauty and fashion authority, Jessee's work has been featured in hundreds of acclaimed print publications and online. Her work has appeared in Cosmopolitan and OK! magazines, and also debuted on Fox News and MTV Style. Jessee also collaborates with Rusk and serves as an elite member of its creative team. When she isn't jet-setting to Sydney, Mumbai or Milan, this star stylist can be found in her Intercoiffure salon in Bristol, Va.
Q. Tell HOT about your own education and what it personally means to you.
A. Education never stops! A quest for continual learning has kept this industry fresh and exciting. My learning has been a continual process that only began at beauty school. I went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Emory & Henry College. I've been privileged to train directly under industry icons Irvine and Louise Rusk and attended seminars with Vivienne Mackinder, Luis Alvarez, and Martin Parsons. I've had numerous trainings to learn how to execute successful photo shoots and advanced training in makeup application. Always growing my skills, I recently took a course in public relations. In turn, as an educator for nearly 20 years I've been able to share that passion for education with countless others.
Q. What key attributes have truly defined your career?
A. Born with a burning desire to work hard, my personal motivation to learn new things and willingness to invest in my career have allowed me to consistently set and reach new goals. Becoming an educator, being able to travel the world, working with celebrities and having my work published in prestigious magazines have all been goals set and reached.
Q. How has international travel shaped your vision?
A. Travel to five continents has allowed me to meet wonderful people from many cultures-all speaking the universal language of beauty. I've found real inspiration in working with fashionistas worldwide.

Q. What inspires you most?
A. I draw from art, movies, nature and constantly admire the work of my peers. Tirelessly, I pour through magazines and books, and watch old movies to embrace styles of the past. Then I sketch, practice and combine my ideas using new textures, tools and techniques.
Q. If you weren't styling hair, what creative endeavor would you pursue?
A. I would definitely be doing something creative and most likely within the beauty industry. I love doing makeup as much as doing hair. I also enjoy writing.
Q. What advice do you have for aspiring artists?
A. Keep learning and growing. Set your goals and go for them!
Q. What hair trends are you eagerly embracing for the coming season?
A. 1920's styles are sure to make a come back. Personally, I'm drawn to classic shapes that exude femininity.
Q. Which creative geniuses do you admire most and why?
A. I was brought to tears at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Alexander McQueen exhibit. I was awestruck at such talent and creativity. I am amazed by the stunning hair creations of Julien D'YS, Angelo Seminara and Peter Gray.
Q. Which awards, if any, have you recently received?
A. I was listed among "Top Platform Artists" by BE! Beauty Entertainment Magazine and was named a "Woman of Style" by Modern Salon.
Q. What's your personal mantra?
A. Be nice and do pretty hair.
