Spring has arrived and beauty buffs everywhere are looking to lighten up. That goes for some of Hollywood's most high-profile brunette bombshells as well-including Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, Jessica Szohr and Maria Menounos.
In an effort to create a quartet of lighter, creamier brown shades, Joico Celebrity Spokesperson George Papanikolas recently "evolved" his celebrity brunette clients while using Joico Vero K-PAK Color and the new Joico Base Breaker Cool.
Jessica Szohr: Sunkissed Chop
Since supermodel Karlie Kloss chopped off her long locks a few months ago, celebs on both coasts have been opting for shorter, carefree cuts. For Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr, Papanikolas's colleague-celebrity cutter Jen Atkin-created a sexy "lob" that Papanikolas enlivened with a few sunny ombré streaks.
Less is more when it comes to highlighting a one-length bob and for Szohr, Papanikolas only colored four foiled sections-two around the face and two off of the parting.
He then backcombed the highlighted sections and painted Joico VeroLight Lightening Powder + 20 Volume developer onto the ends.
After processing the highlights, he glossed this beauty's hair roots to the ends with Joico Vero K-PAK Chrome 1/2 N9/Beach Sand + 1/2 G9/Spun Gold + Activator for a rich and sparkling chocolate and butterscotch combination.

Maria Menounos: Creamy Brunette
The new Base Breaker Cool from Joico gently lifts hair one level in 10 minutes, and at the same time, deposits a cool tone that cancels out unwanted warmth.
To brighten the Extra host's brunette shade and produce a chocolaty hue with honey-toned highlights, Papanikolas applied Joico Base Breaker Cool + 20 Volume developer to the regrowth area and balayage highlights using Joico VeroLight Lightening Powder + 40 Volume developer to wide sections around the face and emanating from the part.
After processing, he glazed all strands with Joico Vero K-PAK Chrome 1/2 N9/Beach Sand + 1/2 Clear + Activator.

Kourtney Kardashian: Cool Highlights
Like Menounos, Kourtney's dark locks got a similar bump with Joico Base Breaker Cool.
Papanikolas created balayage highlights, using Joico VeroLight Lightening Powder + 40-volume developer.
He then placed the highlights around the face and the part, starting with a fine, delicate application at the root and gradually widening each highlight as he progressed to the ends for a smooth, flowing, natural effect.
After processing, he glossed Kourtney's hair with Joico Vero K-PAK Chrome N9/Beach Sand + Activator to blend the highlights with the base and maintain a cool overall tone.

Khloe Kardashian: Brighter Brown
Khloe opted for golden highlights and a lighter, all-over effect that's ideal for warmer weather.
To achieve the look, Papanikolas applied Joico Vero K-PAK Chrome 1/2 N6/Caramel + 1/2 G6/Sandalwood + Activator to all strands.
Then he used Joico VeroLight Lightening Powder + 20-volume developer to create fine, ombré slices on the ends, throughout the head.
After lifting the highlights to golden blonde, he blended the base color and highlights with a glaze of Joico Vero K-PAK Chrome 1/2 N9/Beach Sand + 1/2 Clear + Activator.
