Farouk Systems, Inc. announces CHI as the official hair care sponsor of the 2013 Miss USA competition. The beauty-focused event aired live from the glitzy city of Las Vegas on June 16 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC from PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
The 2013 Miss USA competition spotlighted contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The brainy beauties were judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and an interview. The show concluded with just one contestant ultimately being crowned Miss USA 2013.
Last year's telecast concluded with Olivia Culpo, Miss Rhode Island USA, being crowned Miss USA 2012. After Culpo nabbed the Miss Universe title last December, the first runner-up Nana Meriwether, Miss Maryland USA, assumed the role of Miss USA 2012.

In other news, CHI is kicking off its #GoCurly / #GoStraight campaign to celebrate the launch of two new tools, the CHI ARC and the CHI G2. The campaign features Culpo, who urges fans to #GoCurly with the CHI ARC automatic rotating curling iron, while Nathalie Den Dekker, Miss Universe Netherlands 2012, shows off her smooth, sleek style to encourage fans to #GoStraight with the CHI G2.
Commercials and a spot featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot aired during the live broadcast, which offered multiple chances to win one of the new styling tools.
