Attention cosmetology students and recent grads! If you're graduating and will be licensed by January 1, 2013, or have graduated on or after January 1, 2011 and are 21 years old, licensed and in good standing, June 1, 2012 marks the onset of the 2013 Matrix Spread the Love program application process. "The benefits of participating in this unique program are profound," says Matrix Marketing Director Yaniv Shapira. "Spread the Love Ambassadors interact with everyone in the industry, from other stylists to salon and store owners, educators, manufacturers and marketers," he says. "They receive an incredibly deep understanding of the business and unparalleled opportunities to network. They're also mentored by Matrix Artistic Directors and NAHA winners, and exposed to the giving and generous 'heart' of this business via the charitable and philanthropic activities that they participate in through Chairs of Change."
For application details, visit www.Mymatrixfamily.com/stl. Entrants must submit a video essay explaining why they want to take part in the Spread the Love adventure and send links to personal social networking sites and personal blog samples. Most of all, they need passion-for people, beauty, social media and beyond.
The first round of applications is due August 31, 2012. Cosmetology schools are invited to nominate students. Shortly after August 31, applicants who passed the first round will be notified and required to submit additional material. With their completed applications, the nominees will automatically proceed to the second round. Ultimately, the finalists will be flown to New York City in December and selected after a round of personal interviews. Winners will be announced in December 2012.
