NAHA winner Chrystofer Benson and award-winning photographer Joseph Cartright are sharing their expertise this coming July with "Visionary Shoot," a two-day workshop held in the Big Apple, which melds class time with hands-on training on how to create topnotch photos for yourself, your salon and competitions, including the big daddy of them all, NAHA.

Just some of the topics covered: Concept and creation, storyboards, how to select your team, choosing the right model for your concept, fashion styling, and how to style for the camera.
HOT Editor-in-Chief Jeryl E. Spear will also be on hand to teach you how to get your work published.
"We limit our work–shops to 12 stylists so that everyone receives ample one-on-one training," says Benson, who's also a longtime Matrix Artistic Director.
"In addition to class time, we host actual photo shoots—one editorial and one avant-garde—on the second day. Attendees, who are divided into teams, do the actual hair work.
After completing the workshop, each stylist receives two professionally retouched images of his or her work to use for promotions and portfolio purposes.
Another cool benefit: HOT magazine, the trade media sponsor for our event, will be publishing images produced by the class in its September issue."
