With a boisterous audience of diehard fans adding to the already raucous event, The Blonds rocked Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week with snappy latex fetish masks trimmed to serve as headbands; body-squeezing bustiers festooned with oversized stars, streamers, shells, shark jaws, and lipstick accessories; and long, Barbie-like synthetic wigs that mushroomed at the crown and bobbled with each step.
Not to be remiss in our reporting duties, boy toys...er, make that male models...wore nothing much at all, save tongue-in-cheek grins and tiny thongs that appeared to have been fashioned out of granny swim caps.

Moroccanoil Artistic Director Antonio Corral Calero shares his styling secrets for The Blonds' big, bouncy, synthetic wigs.
"Many stylists believe that you cannot straighten or smooth synthetic hairpieces. In truth, editorial stylists do it all the time. For The Blonds show, I steamed the fibers to create a relaxed, pliable texture and then used Moroccanoil Treatment for a boost of shine and to create a sleek effect. I brushed the model's natural hair straight back, put on the latex headpiece and attached the wig."

"To produce structure, height and volume, the hairpiece was backcombed from the weft seam back to the crown area. A moderately hot curling iron was quickly used on the hair to create volume, bounce and waves from the mid-shafts to ends."
