I´m sitting here with not one, but TWO North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) recipients: Sue Pemberton, 2007 Hair Colorist of the year, and Damien Carney, 2007 Finalist for Classic Contemporary. They represent JOICO as International Artistic Directors traveling the world and sharing their talents. It was inspiring to see that people who have totally “made-it” are still down-to-earth.
You see I do not have a profession but a passion, beauty is always on my mind — when I am moved by music, a movie, when I see images in fashion magazines. Of course working for fashion design-ers helps me to nourish this need for creativity. 1 Comment(s)

You may not have heard his name before, but Halle Berry, Tyra Banks, and others know him by his artistic abilities. Along with Victor Hugo ValVerde and Samvel Bourounsouzian, Neeko is co-owner of Sessions, a 6,000 square foot salonin Old Town Pasadena, Ca. The trio´s philosophy is that education is the way to help the staff stay creative and informed about how to best serve their clientele. Neeko has a confident yet humble personality.He´s someone you feel you can talk to and is really listening to you. Let´s listen to him.
Douglas is one of the most respected British hair stylists around. In fact, he´s received so many accolades that it would take up far too much space to list all of his awards. At the British Hairdressing Awards ceremony in November, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Cosmopolitan named him their Ultimate Man of the Year for 2008. He is highly sought after for TV appearances, fashion shoots — the works. Recently, we were lucky enough to get a chance to chat with him about his many successes.
